The Hortons as Sports Fans
Our family likes to go to watch sporting events. Baseball
season is our favorite time of the year! We see nearly every
Columbus
Clippers home game. As the players grow, lots of our favorite Clippers
wind up playing for the
New York Yankees,
their parent club. We've watched Andy Pettite, Bernie Williams, Hideki
Irabu, Orlando "el Duque" Hernandez, Ramiro Mendoza, Jorge Posada, Mariano
Rivera, and our favorite, 1996 Columbus Clipper of the year Derek Jeter.
We're still watching players like Nick Johnson and Drew Henson play in
Columbus!
In the winter, we enjoy women's basketball. We had season
tickets to the
Columbus
Quest, the only team to win every championship in the 2 1/3
year history of the American Basketball League. It was a sad day when the
league folded. We also enjoy watching the
Capital
Crusaders who have been to the NCAA Div III Final Four 3 times in the
last 6 years.
